Not Today- Imagine Dragons
Full disclosure, I am not loving this one. I simply do not have a single favorite artist or band. My library is borderline schizophrenic and ranges from Disney to Broadway to Country to Dance and from the 70’s up to now. Honestly I could spend a week on this topic alone and still feel I left somebody out. I can’t do that so I made an executive decision and narrowed this down to just bands, slightly more manageable.
I usually try to think broadly doing this but sometimes current events and topics collide and that determines my decision. So today I bypass 10,000 Maniacs, Matchbox Twenty, One Republic (who I already used once) and landed on Imagine Dragons who is a relatively new favorite and the song is one I’ve been leaning on lately.
I like Imagine Dragon’s range and sometimes they hit me with a song that hits so close to home it’s eerie. This is one of those. It’s an end of the day song, when things are not going so well. You aren’t looking for a magic perfect instant fix, only that things be just a tiny bit easier and show some glimmer of hope. Sadly, some days that just doesn’t happen… Not today anyway but there is always tomorrow. It’s kinda sad but it’s also kinda hopeful. It’s funny how those things are often intertwined. Anyway… great song.
